Beneath her shirt, a book was eating her up.
This book meant so much to me, I cannot begin to explain the emotional attachment I have to it. Without much explanation, here is a step-by-step collection of images culminating in my own expression of The Book Thief. Enjoy...
The quote is from the novel, The Book Thief, by Zusak; the significance of the novel is quite deep. Literally, Liesel had just stolen a book from a Nazi book burning bonfire. The book was, literally, burning her as she held it beneath her blouse. Metaphorically, the idea of reading, literature, had begun a transformation within her being - she was now one with the literature in her very soul. She gained a relationship with words that many people will never have. She was the words, inside and out; she was the story; she is the story.
Wow thats extremely creative!
ReplyDeleteI was actually having trouble iwth that quote.. do you know what it means? I don't get the significance of the quote :(
